Application Guidelines for Anniversary Events

Japan and Australia will mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia in 2026. We aim to make this anniversary year one of broad exchange between Japan and Australia, with the active participation of local governments, businesses, private organisations, and others.

Applications are now open for events and activities related to Japan-Australia exchange, organised by local governments, companies, private organisations, etc., during the period from January to December 2026. Following review, eligible events will be approved as Anniversary Events for the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia.
