About The JLPT
The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is the largest-scale Japanese language test in the world. Since 1984, The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services have continued to offer the JLPT as a reliable means of evaluating the Japanese proficiency of non-native speakers. The JLPT is widely recognised across corporate and government sectors as a benchmark for proficiency measurement, and is also a strong motivator for students of Japanese language.

Special Testing Accommodations (STA) application process
Applicants with an impairment or disability may request STA.
(1) Register and pay for the JLPT and select “YES…” to the STA question in the online registration form. NOTE: STA application is an extra process in addition to standard JLPT registration. Just ticking the STA question on the JLPT registration form DOES NOT mean you have applied for STA. It only indicates your intention to apply for STA.
(2) Submit all documents via email to The Japan Foundation, Sydney: (jlpt_sy (at) jpf.go.jp). It is also permissible for a representative to apply on your behalf.
(3) STA application deadline: September 11 (Thu) 5pm AEST. Strictly no late submissions will be accepted.
(4) Include all documents together. If you supply documents piecemeal over several emails, there is the risk of material being omitted or confusion over which version of a document is correct.
