The Japan Foundation, Sydney has produced a classroom resource “Activities Using Movies”, with general ideas on using films as an educational tool [link below].
JFF (Japanese Film Festival) school screenings are exclusive screenings for school groups as part of the annual Japanese Film Festival Australia.
School screening films are best suited for high school students. Fun Japan-related quizzes are held at the start of each screening, and worksheets on the film are made available to teachers to use pre-excursion.
School screenings generally start at 10am with staggered start times on offer in some cities with more than one cinema.

Synopsis
Single mother Kaori lives with her daughter Futaba on the remote island of Hachijojima, known for its natural beauty. The once sweet Futaba is now a high school student in the middle of a rebellious phase, and barely acknowledges her mother. Kaori seeks revenge by creating intricate bento lunches that spell out remarks like; “Do your chores!”, but eventually the boxed lunches become a means of communication between mother and daughter. Based on the real-life story of a Japanese blogger who reached number one in the Daily Overall Ranking in 2015 for her “harassment bento” blog.
