Japanese Contest Prize

The Japan Foundation, Sydney (JPF Sydney) offers prize support for organisers of Japanese language–related student contests in Australia and New Zealand. This program assists primary, secondary, and tertiary level schools and contest committees by providing physical prizes that help celebrate and motivate students’ Japanese studies.

Individual applicants are not eligible.

Available Prizes

Successful applicants will receive prizes selected from a pre-approved prize pool, managed by JPF Sydney.

Examples include:

  • Stationery: themed erasers, pens, and stamps
  • Japanese toys: Kendama, Origami, cards, and other traditional or educational toys
  • Books: Japanese literature and language learning resources
  • DVDs: Japanese films, shows, and animation

Eligibility

Applications are open to Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary schools, and Japanese Language Teachers’ Associations in Australia and New Zealand.

All Applications must be submitted by an authorized representative on behalf of the institution. Note: Individuals, private language schools, and community language schools are not eligible.

Application Period

Applications are open from February 19, 2026, until June 26, 2026.
