Seminar for Japanese Language Teachers

This free seminar for Japanese language educators will introduce a teaching model focused on communication using a series of fun and exciting Japanese-language learning course books called Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture, developed by The Japan Foundation.
Discover the features of The Japan Foundation’s Japanese Language course, its model teaching plans and useful online resources, designed to foster communication skills. Japanese language teachers, assistants, tutors, and anyone with an interest in Japanese language teaching are invited to participate.
The seminar will also introduce Marugoto’s online resources, and include the opportunity for participants to explore the website in details and test the functions first-hand. Please bring your own device, if possible.

10am – 12pm | Teaching model introduction Aims to foster communication skills by using Marugoto and its lesson plans for a starter level |
12pm – 1pm | Lunch break |
1pm – 1:30pm | Designing lessons that encourage speaking skills using Marugoto’s teaching concept and course book layout |
