For our seventeenth Japanese education seminar with UNSW, exploring the theme of raising Japanese-speaking children in Australia, Victorian members of the Australian Network for Japanese as Community Language (ANJCL) invite two teachers from local Japanese community schools.

ニューサウスウェールズ大学と共催のもと「オーストラリアで日本語を使う子どもを育てる」というテーマでセミナーを行っています。第１7回の今回は豪州繋生語研究会（ANJCL）のビクトリア支部から、補習校の先生2名をお招きしての開催です。 

  

What is KEISHOGO (繋生語)?

Keishogo is defined as the language that is born from connections with parents, family, and friends, and that creates further connections, generates new meanings, and passes these connections on to the next generation.

繋生語とは

「繋生語」は、海外に住む日本と繋がる子どもたちのことばを表します。子どもたちが親から受け継ぐことばも含め、親や家族、友だち、社会との繋がりから生まれ、さらなる繋がりを生み、そこで新しい意味を生み出し、その繋がりを次の世代に繋げていくことばです。

【Message from Australian Network for Japanese as Community Language (ANJCL), Victoria Branch】

The recent Australia-wide ANJCL interview study revealed that children who have connections with Japan and learn Japanese as community language need a variety of support. In this seminar, we will discuss how important it is for such support to be provided not only by parents themselves but also through teamwork between parents and teachers. Based on this idea, the presenters and the audience will share their experiences, knowledge and advice on how to support children’s learning.

【豪州繋生語研究会 (ANJCL) ビクトリア支部からのメッセージ】

全豪繋生語インタビュー調査では、日本とつながる子ども達の繋生語は様々なサポートを必要とすることが浮き彫りになりました。今回のセミナーでは、子ども達の繋生語をサポートするためには、親が一人で奮闘するのではなく、子ども達の学びの旅をおうちと先生方が共に伴走することが大切だという考えをもとに、皆さんと経験やアイディアを共有できればと考えています。

Australian Network for Japanese as Community Language (ANJCL)

ANJCL was formed in 2019 and has conducted surveys in Australia in relation to the Japanese-language learning environment for speakers of Japanese as Community Language, with support from The Japan Foundation Sydney.  ANJLC consists of 8 branches: one in in each state/territory. The Network aims to increase and improve support given to KEISHOGO children in Australia, as well as connect with parents and teachers who watch over children’s development.

豪州繋生語研究会

2019年に発足。国際交流基金シドニー日本文化センターの研究助成を受け、オーストラリアに住む繋生語話者に関する調査を行いました。各州、各地域に支部があります。繋生語を使う子どもたちへのよりよいサポートを目指し、子どもたちを見守る保護者や教員のみなさんと繋がりながら今後も活動を展開予定です。
