Book Circle for Australian Reading Hour 2018

September 20, 2018

Pause your day for one hour and immerse yourself in our Japan-specialised collection for fun, stress relief or new knowledge about Japan.

Meet peers at the Book Circle session starting at 6:30 pm. You can talk for up to 5 minutes about your favourite book and make it everyone’s next read! Don’t worry if you don’t have any books at hand right now. It is your choice to talk about a book you read or just be part of the audience.

This event is run as part of Australian Reading Hour; a national reading campaign, and for this day library hours are extended until 8pm.

Presenters are requested to talk briefly about a book (5 minutes max). Choose a book by a Japanese author (translated works are ok) or a book about Japan. Manga or children’s books are also fine. However, please avoid highly academic books. You can also bring your own book if you want to present a title which is not part of our library’s collection.
