Bonsai Lecture with Takahiro Mori

Join internationally renowned bonsai artist Takahiro Mori for a lecture, demonstration and Q&A on bonsai.
Mori will introduce the traditional Japanese art of bonsai and his personal history as a bonsai artist before demonstrating various bonsai techniques. This seminar is suitable for both those new to bonsai and budding artists looking to learn more about the craft from a master.
Takahiro Mori brings his knowledge of bonsai to Australia as a Japan Cultural Envoy appointed by the Agency of Cultural Affairs.
This lecture is presented by The Japan Foundation, Sydney and the Consulate-General of Japan in Sydney.
Takahiro Mori
Bonsai artist Takahiro Mori was born in Tokyo in 1979 and began studying bonsai under the late Koji Tsukahara at Katsuta Koushouen in 2002. In 2006, he began working independently as a bonsai artist.
Currently, he works at his atelier, Bonsai Mori, which was established in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, in 2013. He is actively engaged in a wide range of activities to popularise bonsai such as holding workshops for beginners and leading bonsai communities in Japan as well as overseas. As a young bonsai artist, he often appears on television, radio, newspapers, magazines and other media.
